Symptoms of Flu
Typical flu symptoms include: a sudden onset of high fever with chills, headache, aching muscles, weakness and sometimes a cough and sore throat.1
Many people confuse flu with a heavy cold; however, flu tends to be more severe than the common cold, which is caused by other respiratory viruses such as rhinovirus.2 Flu is very draining and you’ll probably have to go to bed. The infection lasts for around seven days.3
Following flu infection, many people feel tired and unwell for several weeks. Serious complications of flu include bronchitis and secondary bacterial pneumonia.2
